good morning parents my name is Miss Ponte Vecchio and I am the Healthy Start navigator for John Burroughs today I would like to share information with you to start program the wellness program and the community of resources are available in your community start by sharing my screen what is Healthy Start how to start the program committed to removing barriers to school Success by integrating student support facilitating parent and Community engagement Healthy Start offer students and parents a variety of services that meet the needs of the whole school whole child in whole community I'll be starting mission is to address the needs of the whole Child by connecting students and their families to the physical social emotional and academic support needed in school at home and in the Community Church short 1% graduate we strive to alleviate barriers to learning by linking for connecting students and families to Community Resources although we provide support and services to all we prioritize forward to meet the needs of our most vulnerable students from low-income households English language Learners and Foster services are open to all parents are all welcome to services and no one is program consist of Healthy Start for inators and Navigators that work in all six local school districts we are located at over 100. each team focuses on creating network of internal and external partners once the gold have been established we've been assessed the courses available and seek out Partnerships that provide services need to identify needs food shelter clothing assistant dental medical Vision Services and referral to social emotional support services medical needs social emotional support we also provide confidential Case Management Services to support the various needs of our students and Families we strive to provide positive customer support ensuring that all our students and families needs are met by follow-up once we provide service we identified the need of a family we refer family services and not only through just for sure how to start provide health insurance enrollment and renewal systems to eliminate barriers which impact student and then ensuring that students are able to physically attend school can you graduate on time is it one of the reasons by health insurance so important because it's also very important nerves of the development of the children enable so that they can be successful Healthy Start a cyst 2700 individual students parents and community members applying for the following health insurance program program step one of them is a virtual or nia which aims to all ages another aesthetic how restrictive. Which is Kaiser Permanente child health which is a program either offers on Saturday Healthy Start refers eligible clients my health La ages 6 and up with chcp showers and other federally funded programs so we do have certified enrollment counselors in the Healthy Start program that can actually help you apply for the weather at the initial or whether it's the renewal there is always someone there that can help you even just to answer questions for the first time on application service that we can help families Healthy Start also collaborates with Student Health and Human Services support staff to facilitate various Wellness programs events and workshops and well as education so we're very frequently out Isabel Community trying to let for parents about the various different resources that are available and what type of service is the programs in La Unified do the LAUSD have wellness centers across the district on their bear located at various locations within the district and they're located at school play some of the services that offer free food immunization Jessica with Sam Primary Vision exam available at specific sites are eligible to all LAUSD students understood wings a special education students more information right here you see the information to call this number on for the nearest sledding near you these are the clinics that are available I can open one soon I'm here but if you look here on the left you see the two of you hear that means that they're in the west is located now it's Hollywood High a Wellness Center they have this is the address and they are open Monday through Friday from 8 to 3 and then there's also one over at Mark Twain on Spotify bones that are site you can always call this number and they'll let you know which the nearest clinic is for you and if you like an appointment you can always call this number as well you services are free of charge by the way I'm subbing services are available so this is the student and family are well as fault line on each side has its own start navigator so if you ever need anything start navigator then there is one of fight in this is myself however though if you're ever at home or you just need immediate assistance or you prefer to have a your home for some reason you need to talk to somebody we do have a available so the same type of service that I would fight for you here at John Burroughs someone at the hot lunch and also provide you with a phone call flight number that you can call and it is open school days Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 p.m. and you can call for consultation support and referral and they've narrowed it down so that when you do call you can cheer for us one for mental health for nursing for example for 4:22 if you decide to call them and you can help you out and if you need any further assistance or if you need to talk to somebody so that I can call you to follow up with you so I can continue to address so we all share the same database I can see if there's any information given to you or there's any additional resources you can come and see me school days so in addition to the Family Resource Centers that are available in the community Family Resource Centers are located in high-need areas of study provide services to address social educational work and family support service just to let you know some of the sir this is that they do provide for families in the community are for example they also offer referral did you ever need a community they also offer parent Workshop classes classes immigration services and mentoring just to mention a few of the services that they do provide he's family resources are open for the community and if you want you you on there's one in Hollywood volunteer America that's a very well-known organization have one on West Adams another the one here that is located for West Los Angeles is the Latino resource organization and they have one here Family Resource Centers that are available to families should you seek and resource these are very important hotlines available to all residence here in in Los Angeles on the 11 which is the most recognized service available to LA County residents and this is basically what this referral agency that provides the resources that are available in city of Los Angeles and there's three ways to dial 2-1-1 it's like dialing 911 except you'll be going to a run it's basically what you have is a picture of Kristen life they're open 7 days a week 10 hours a day so you can help you at the moment many different referral if you need help break down food bank rental assistance any information about Kobe I'm support and resources that you've certainly on for you and questions you have or help you locate those services and resources you can also go online at 2 on La. Org and this is the web if you want if you prefer to just go on the computer and get some information online for sexually speaking to Someone Like You can go on their website and it's they have a Search tool where you can just type in are you need for example you just type in your zip code and they will show up there was a list of all the local food banks in your area I personally I use this sometimes it's extremely hot they have hundreds of vendors and service providers list it by myself useless as well when I help families in LA with a very useful tool Los Angeles homeless Services Authority is open also or any type of Housing and Emergency Shelters they are open seven days a week 24 hours a day and they also residents with information regarding an emergency shelter on this is the this is her phone number if you like you can also contact into the website the LA county department of social services or CalFresh this is the phone number to contact them and they assist customers who are also experiencing homelessness domestic violence that's available they will I'll let you know the legal aid Foundation of Los Angeles is also a service provided including fiction and family law for low-income family they're open Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 I provided you with their website and the phone number this is also a tool for sale you have any questions regarding any here's a pair Workshop that is available just wanted to let you know that this Workshop will be available was that we also work with your effort to provide counseling services to our students they will be hosting a workshop for you if you want to register on some of the top and issues a come up with John when I mean is they want to find better way to communicate with your kids they want to find ways to better ways to handle the children and help them to become more independent this is a very short Workshop that will be available Sherry Arrowood Cedar-Sinai also offer some parenting workshops if you're interested are available also presume on Wednesdays from 9 to 10 and they're going to be focusing on building healthy habits and I know it's for the month of March if you would like some more information about that to how to register for the classes will be available. LA County Darren t income tax true for a what's it called the guaranteed income program and this is a program that provides income for our lowest income families so if you like to party start March 31st and just go to breathe for more information regarding application anybody has any questions show me my contact information on my email I don't have a personal direct line but you can always call the main office and just leave a message with your name and telephone number and I will it's easiest to get ahold of me through my email if you have any questions or you like them are in a situation where you guidance and direction to always feel free to call I do have another thing I do want to share with Karen and it's just a quick reminder we have some services at school too we have tutoring spring tutoring program for JB all students are welcome and this started this Monday so it is in the morning everyday from 7:15 to 7:45 in the morning and that would be before school after school we have Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and that of course is when we are on regular class school schedule I did want to share that with you and this is also on our school website it is also in Spanish and in Korean so we have our spring 2022 virtual open house so Friday March 25th and it's from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during this open houses actual virtual open house you're going to refer to the schedule below to virtually visit your child's classes we will be starting from homeroom and ending with serious 6 due to the security reasons and we don't want to need the embalming or anything like that so we are at our families to just enter through the open house at the open house is through your child schoology account that all students to have a zoom link for their class on there was a account and if it's not there right now the teacher is probably going to post it the teacher will post it sorry prior to next Friday and also don't forget please save the date we also have a spring clip about parents they're going to be held on Thursday April 7th and they will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. okay so those are some important dates just mark them in your calendar thank you so much parents I'll as always for joining and we appreciate parents joining us and we appreciate the thought of a Kia just sharing her Resources with us and actually being there for our families and for our students just another member of our JV staff who is new this year as well but very much a big part of our
