Transportation Request - Opt In Through Parent Portal for 2026-2027

Transportation Request for the 2026–2027 School Year

Greetings John Burroughs Families,

Los Angeles Unified School District is asking all families who are interested in school bus transportation for the 2026–2027 school year to submit a transportation request through the LAUSD Parent Portal during the Opt-In Period during the month of April/May 2026.

Please note:
Even if your child currently rides an existing bus route, families must submit a new transportation request for the upcoming academic school year through the Parent Portal.

Los Angeles Unified is offering transportation to all students, based on demand during the Opt-In Period, availability, and transportation rules. If transportation can be provided, priority will be given to students who reside in areas where buses are available.

The current opt-in period (April/May 2026) is for Fall 2026–2027. Please make sure to select the correct school year when submitting your request.

Eligibility Requirement:
• Secondary students must live more than 2 miles from school
• Eligibility is determined by the straight-line distance between the residence and the school site, also referred to as air radius miles
