good morning parents thank you for being here if you probably noticed on the schedule we only have one probably would since today because the team has very little time left to make sure all the final race I before we are back to school on Monday I'm talking about that so we will do our best to be as perfect as we can with the information today so we can post it as a recording later on tonight so either families who were not able to attend so there is a lot to cover all we're going to do keep everything from arriving to school getting food in school or case management procedures special and and and and then meet plenty of time for you to ask questions share your concerns with okay it is a lot of information and bear in mind that doesn't have been attending puppy knows that we've been saying that we were waiting for final approval from the for many of these items whether it was a schedule Monday was the final day that we got a final approval for the schedule South and then we've been getting some last-minute items from the district as well to it's one of these barbecue not finalized this at 13 weeks ago so this is mostly finalized version of everything and it's probably going to open up the school website show School reopening calendar basically the first week of school and we're going to go into detail as to what the specific time frame will look like but the first day of school will be April 26th in our teachers staff members are returned to return to campus at that time and teachers will have a quick check in with your students for about 15 minutes during their advisory classes and we have the time for you in a in a play that's coming up right away but April 27th that Tuesday grade 6 coordinate students will be returning and April 28th Wednesday grade 6 whole hotel students will be returning on the 29th is our pretty much our largest they were all grade levels will be returning grade 6 7 and 8 or 8 on the 30th we have grade 6 7 8 we can go to the next Friday so the first day of school is that Monday the month Monday will be hold on alarm going off but that Monday it will be focused solely on staff planning and preparation the teachers will have a virtual welcome with your student advisor es students will have you're welcome with the teacher from 8:30 to 8:45 and advisory chandell students will have a virtual check in with their students from 9 to 9:15 your advisory teacher will be posting the length on to the Belinda platform and student can log in at that time and again Tuesday only call her 8th grade 6 starts Wednesday Cordell grade 6 starts Thursday are all level cohort and Friday are all grade levels cohort l so what does every single school day look like in terms of time students if you are coming in person this is the on-campus schedule every other Monday will be alternating so Monday May 3rd we will start with. 135 then when they come in to 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays doors will be open for students starting at 8:30 after did they do their temperature check the daily pass check didn't have the opportunity to have a want to have breakfast they can go into their advisory classes all classes will begin starting at 9 a.m. in person at that time the advisory teacher will be teaching one life 10 from 9:30 to 10:40 it will be. One 10:50 to 12 will be. Three 12:10 to 12:40 will be the second life instruction for it again they don't want them. Three students will be logging into their classes be a zoo so they will be with the teacher but logging into there. Classes Florida to Vermont area for 40 to 120 is their lunch time and we will end the school day if I'm between 1:20 to 2:30 they will log into their last class for the day and students will be dismissed to go home starting at you and we will have staggered dismissal times to depending on the grade level again on Campus Learning if you are coming Wednesday Friday it is the same exact schedule it just depend on how far you are in each or Tuesdays and Thursdays cold hotels or Wednesdays and Fridays with every other Monday alternating now if you're sitting in the online schedule that is more than fine same thing Monday they're alternating except the only change is that all students will have to login starting at 8:30 from 8:30 to 9 will be the advisory class the live session that they have with a teacher via Zoom then 9:30 to 10:40 if either. One or. Two depends 10:50 to 12 is either. Three or four depending on the day except the only difference is from 12 to 1:20 do you have an extended break if you are learning from home and we end the school day either with a. 5 or. So before you return to campus what are some things that you must do we just need to that again students a rest and they are fully aware that they are coming back to school for that we want to surprise them that morning we return we will ensure that they have their supplies 34 them each student will be given those headphones such a little pencil cases with individual supplies of crayons color pencils pencils and pens students will not have to share any supplies with one another students will be supplied with individual notebooks and again if they have any other concerns or questions they do have the teacher that they can ask and of course we're following the same protocols and turns of raising their hands and support as needed Duncan Martinez did you want to speak about the School Readiness report card thank you District had made an announcement that you would be able to access with call the School Readiness report card and also have been asked to go online and check off everything that we've done to ensure that there is a big campus until we make sure that everyone has gun training with our students and staff Alicia facemash talked about physical physical distancing we talked about the importance of the small consistent corporates and not make sense then we'll talk a little bit about that on our map we modified all the classrooms that staff has been working very hard and clean weekend to make sure that there's adequate 6 with spacing or more in each classroom and watching hygiene will be a priority and we're making sure all the restrooms naproxen have enough hand sanitizers need to make sure that that is working as of right now all of them do not have any issues opinion difficult thing is taking place right now at 4 for this pastor trying to get as many staff members on site in fact as quickly as possible IHOP cream everyone will be screened at the door including anyone who does not have a negative covid-19 test will not be allowed on campus or anyone that does not Pasadena checklist will not be allowed on campus and of course we have procedures to follow that we call that case management and we'll go over that little bit with you you want to make sure that every costume every staff member has adequate CPE and cleaning supplies to like North Face feels and things like that we will have extra something happens with your child that doesn't work right or doesn't fit right we can offer up Max at school so we will have extra I went at 4:30. We were one of the first you started shopping early to make sure that we had adequate for 5 but for now we have adequate supplies for that I've been doing a lot of Staff training for teachers for safety making sure that you didn't know how to use the restroom if needed to know how to go to the nurse if you need it and know how to when and where we're going to eat when we offer breakfast lunch and India Backstreet we'll talk about in a little bit the big point of all of this that we're doing the open up and we'll go with the Mac I think the massive house easier to show you how the testing in the contact tracing with work and then a great job of offering all of our teachers to go and get back together and so are there was a big push for all of her staff you vaccinated had adequate time after the vaccine developed immunity to be on-site to a lot in the last month or two since they said we were going to open up so I do believe we are open great I'm really excited about going back to school I know that lots of people have questions about what it would be like my friends and I go to Business School when they got on the bus and ask them if they would make sure everyone on the bus at or the matter how we everyone is wearing a mask we got to school we all lined up at you I said we're supposed to say six feet apart and still made it Easy by Jackson Browne plant with Mike her the purse messages asking if I agree with what it said I'm fine I took my Daypack and he took my hand it only took a few steps I walked down I found some of my friends going to their clients to they will come and lines and arrows in the pathway to make sure that I stay on the right side and went the right direction when I got to my classroom in many times and certified check the what is made as soon as possible and they were great Princeton person and not on that's a little while we got to go to reset I stayed with my class and we play outside if I went back to class only a couple bucks going anytime don't do the clothes and sink blocked up so I could wash your hands or use the bathroom at time back to class when it was time to go then I sleep my friends went home and some of the other school prevent Jackson get music I can't wait for school to start thank you McNabb but we must clarify one difference in secondary vs Elementary a secondary because the school day ends at 2:30 we will not be on the Bell it's not waiting for be on the pillow or at the program that they will not be able to offer extended care beyond 2:30 okay and so that's the one distinction that we have to clarify between Elementary and and tap and dairy schools obviously this video was designed specifically for LMN and family nextlight if I can add parents when you have to pick up the child that means you have to pick him up and they have to go home please do not tell your child to go into the go ahead and wait for for you to pick him up later at 3 or whatever time the only official pick-up and drop-off for students is a front of the school in again if it if for whatever reason the schedule is not work out where you cannot pick up your child the alternative to that will be returning back to a hybrid ice cream an online learning experience. Hopefully we can work that out again there are no exceptions to this cuz that's a program that if we are not ready to be on the Belt does not run after school childcare for students that are in the hybrid now there is childcare but we'll talk about that right now and will explain Edition for that so yeah are to return home I please do not have him wait in the neighborhood or down the street in one of the store area or something like that please we want to make sure they're safe to be picked up right away or did you go home the way they said that you were allowed to go home if you have any questions on that please chapter one of the administrators that is an important thing because we are outside we can't control the social distancing in the grouping and a gathering and all that want to make sure things are safe and are not Gathering outside when area thank you you want to be mindful of the neighbors especially surrounding John Burroughs middle school again having to having us back on campus is going to be an adjustment for everyone that we would appreciate your support parents the mystical thought at this time if you can go over and turn the protocols of entering campus and how that will look like you want to bring up the reminder because I I don't have starring capabilities I can get that please just to wake me up beyond the bell remember it is 2:30 if they're in their cohort day they need to go home and we will be going somewhere over summer information for beyond the bell in a few minutes so please bear with me this is me morning entry map again I just remind you to reminder Dr Martinez I was going over you need to make sure that you have your daily car if you need to make sure that you do your weekly cover Tech you should have had a baseline test already and the pain that you are getting this week in the one that will allow you on your child to attend school starting next week now when you get to school and again and will not be allowed to come onto campus until starting 8:30 between 6:30 and 8 we are going to be checking in our staff then we need to put it over to our student entry points and there are three the main doors are in front of school you will line up along mccadden and if we need around the corner on 6th Street entrance number 2 is going to be over by the auditorium double gave you would line up along my account in going south so what if the teacher parking lot entrance and entrance will be on 6th Street or what we called the Breezeway between north and Main Building and you will line up again on 6th Street going east tour June Street those are the minor points I know somebody asked earlier if the students arrive before 8:30 and they line up yes they can mine. But they're going to be waiting there until we can let them in with you again soon start at 8:30 so I don't know if we will also have an entry point for our buses which is going to be over by the cafeteria area and I'm going to go over we'll be doing on our next map are there any questions from the entry point I'm not paying attention to the q-and-a right now no okay go over what happens if they don't pass the screen you want me to go to bed so what happens if a student gets here when we checked her temperature because that's one of the things we're going we're going to check the QR code that you get and remember that's the other thing I wanted to make sure you understand the word daily me every day so every that you need to get the day before you leave home YouTube mrs. Bailey can't believe we're going to go over how to do that a little later on but please make sure that you are provide your student the QR code that you are told and we can it but it just felt as the student is allowed to be on campus the next do a temperature check if a student has a fever of a hundred or higher we need to make sure that we provide a place and the there's two are up here on the I hope you can see where I'm pointing isolation and quarantine area when students do not pass the temperature check or we will wait a few minutes and try the temperature again but if they don't have that second time they will be escorted you are outside the buildings we will not go into the building more than likely we would walk into one of the other side gate we have several keep them out of the building away from other students and personnel and  them to either of the isolation or quarantine areas depending on their condition so if if they are displaying covid symptoms and they have a temperature it will be taking to one area if they are just displaying a high temperature but no other covid symptom they will be escorted to another area at that point we will make sure an administrator will  your student your child one of the areas we will call the parents and have the parents come pick them up because they will not be able to remain on campus they will not be able to attend class or participate in a lunch or any other activity we must about students and it's a very involved process of contact crazy if they were on the bus if they were on the Metro is that we need to start all that paperwork and then I will start over in the isolation quarantine area by an administrative let me go into more detail cuz I just had a couple more questions so we are not assigning great level to each of these entrances because one of them their families they have different ways of getting to school it's sometimes walk and suit and some come on a Metro others come in the car so it is based on whatever is convenient for you depending on how you're getting to school are we walking monitor the line so that if one line shorter than the other will ask people to walk over to the next line we want to make sure that we are officially efficiently checking and scanning students and getting them in on a timely manner I think there was a couple questions in her about I've been going up to the cards and doing a canning unfortunately we do not have the staff to indicate another line like that in a moment we're going to show you why because I've been thinking that this is going on we are actually going to be running an indoor eating area requires even more staff as well to make sure students are being monitored so unfortunately we will not be doing drive-up temperature check for your child will have to get in line and and the goal is if your child does not pass a screen for whatever reason and you're there with your child will explain to you why and and hopefully you can return home with your child but if the child is by themselves in again as mr. Carter said we will move them over to the isolation area I'll call you and the expectation is that within the hour how are you confused you need to pick up your child if you noticed over here in the lower right-hand side we moved on nurse station to be a little bit more over here towards the right hand side of the map so that we can have the the nurse a little closer to the 10th students that are going to be ill and want to make sure that they are receiving the proper care that they need information on thank you for the reminder okay I think I'm quickly looking at that before we move on up I think that's it. Let's move on timer for letting students in Vegas we will have a table set up near the entry point for those students who want to participate in the breakfast we will have a three or four different area for students will be able to eat there breakfast when they come in so if they are interested they can pick up a breakfast and we will  them or Point them toward the lunch the breakfast area that we will be using sorry I forgot to remove this one what we will be providing two large area for breakfast this area over here as of right now it will hopefully before the students were riding the buses because the buses will be taking in students just got here and I'm sending the students into their breakfast area if they are if they want to eat breakfast yet if not the expectation that the students will go straight to their classrooms and I know you are sixth graders showing question earlier world will the students before where to go if they don't know what the problem is yes we will have Personnel posted throughout campus at switching our students and telling them where their advisory so they can go straight to their classroom either after eating or breakfast or if they don't want breakfast right away when they answer out of there any question on breakfast which is the same time again at the same time as we're letting students then I need to provide Supervision in these areas are well for breakfast and there any questions on that yes it's if I can make it clear again your child as they're being skin at the entrances movie Act will be offered a breakfast in the in the classroom bag so your child can receive a bag of breakfast and walk over to an outdoor dining area to eat and that's that we're going to get lost in time. talk to do that but if your child says no I don't want to end declined the the breakfast pack your child will be instructed to go report directly to their advisory. Okay then the other two moms do you need lunch time app which again we have a several areas again for social distancing guidelines we and we want to make sure that everybody wants areas with time tables and chairs and I believe I later on in the presentation you'll be able to see some of these areas what they're going to look like so these areas again will be for lunch area I will have a advisory teacher for time to them so that we can try to keep the social distancing guidelines as well as contact pricing for us because if anything happens we make sure that we can trace everybody that that person may have had contact after we will be assigning teachers to each area so that he's out of the area where students will be having are there any questions on that the last night and I'm sorry I keep adding math and I keep forgetting which one is which is this one is mine map and again for 6th grader on Tuesday and Wednesday I don't foresee it being an issue we will have to exit right now is the main door and the Auditorium gate we will open up we will more than likely do some kind of a staggered dismissal to avoid again any long lines or any crowding social distancing I am Basie and so these are going to be the exit for my sixth-grade my 6 trailer cuz I am the picture in a minute later you will be able to pick up your student out in front of school on June and or when if your court date is Tuesday at your hotel is Wednesday so you can pick him up out in front of school our biggest challenge and someone said earlier is going to be on Thursday when we have all three great am I right now and for saying that if we need to open up a third exit we may be opening up these exit over on the off of Wilshire I would need out to Wilshire so if your student for example right Metro this might be a good active these might be good exercise for them because the bus stops are right up on Wilshire if they ride the Metro on Thursday May want to utilize one of the other exit the exit for a dismissal are there any questions on this missile if I can add a little bit more we wait for questions parents at the dismissal part is going to be bit of a challenge for us because when we want to make sure that we have adequate spacing among students when they leave but main cities go home to in different ways right some of them go on a Metro they go on Metro on Wilshire or they go up on Thursday something is walk home and something about something about going eastbound or or West Town or or north or south and then of course parents can pick up your child with car to spread out throughout the campus and see what we can do the first we're going to take a survey to figure out how many students are walking and getting picked up and in which direction they need to go because we will be at Justine the gates that we need to open more if we need to close the gates are we do we need to instruct some classes to eggs turn on the North building area versus the field again we want to make sure that we avoid multiple classes walking into each other and we can't hold them for too long after school either again and again the challenge we have is we can't call weather Tuesday going to start gathering in groups after school because again once we get this mess we need to turn around close to school and start cleaning at 4 the next day making sure the pies available at any of the big cats because every single cartoon is being used so please understand that be patient with us the first week for both arrival and leaving school but we will attach will go take any feedback other parents present students presented after that to adjust and make this easier for us as we open up we are Secondary School on the west if I'm not mistaken opening a number that is correct we are amongst a community of schools we are the second-largest only by a few students did the modern mystery school have you heard a lot of them people that have a large number of their students returning for Middle School where we're very large and will show you the numbers right now and you may not think it's it may not look alike according to the CDC guys and we cannot exceed more than 25% operating to pass the world will be loaded and it will share with you the number students are tank and it will change will have some family that probably hear about her school and and think it's safer and was sent to Saint Phillip's may not like how it is writing in may not want to come back for those numbers are going to fluctuate so we'll share with your graph to show you a number of students that will members are very happy to be back in the classroom I can already tell you there's one group of students in the in the thigh that should not have been too close together so there and if you can identify it just isn't mr. Troy over here so they're kind of like breaking the rules we would obviously have to have that seated move towards the back of the classroom okay next slide this now again a proper hand hygiene is expected throughout the campus we will have these hands pretty much everywhere and then again frequent hand-washing will be an expectation and we will not only verbally remind students but again as you know we're coming in from supervision reminding students to wash their hands and make me feel stations are available before they didn't have lunch parents if you can just do a quick favor because because students will be utilizing water bottle please have name nicknamed the water name on the water bottle that would be very very helpful at the end of utilize if you're sitting this Thursday they forgot their water bottle with you have individual water bottles available for student but no need to fret again this is somehow some of our stations look like kinds of lunch we are setting up tents all over the campus and that's what doctor Martinez in the entire staff is concerned about you know we don't want to type that we have all this equipment Oliver you know why we may be posting that morning and afternoon math but maybe not. Again some more pictures and again students will be a cohort of together to maintain social guidelines against it is our at individual tables Independent Record quality this is one of our isolation tents that we will have available of be advised that we will be adding some walls to the tents and just to maintain some privacy for our all right now beyond the bell doctor Martinez in mr. Did you want to speak to the young adult program and how it's changed well okay let me go ahead to some parents on the day that your child doesn't in hybrid another word for the day that you're not going to see their advisory teacher on their off days you can apply for child care so let's say your child is on a hybrid call her to go Tuesdays and Thursday they're not had to be scheduled on campus on Wednesday and Friday but that day you can select childcare do it beyond the bell program and I believe they run from 8 to 4 are we set aside some classrooms for those students who need that child care I'll bet it's not beyond the bell The Villa at the usual when it runs and it meaning that they will also be as instructed to have their child to let their iPad they will be monitoring the classroom and they will be on zooming in from the beyond the bell program as a baby monitor there won't be any any reset I need they will have lunch but other than that they won't be resuming their normal activities are letting students out to play or another program they will be zooming in from those classroom with beyond the bell cyprian stop monitoring them in for that you have to apply and we're working on a plan to distribute those applications to all of our students or families on the first couple of days do you have to return it and then you because return the school and they were processed and they will contact you and let you know when you can start again back to the beyond the bell program it's not on the days where your child is in attendance for the hybrid when they're mean advisory. Teacher I'll park right there and fill it out ahead of time and bring it in I just posted on the west side under the reopening resources I want to make I guess answer a question here they're the best way to communicate is right now because we're we're in so many different places people are across the campus or in the office or out of their offices are making runs were buying things materials for the school the best way to get to add is the email and it's something that before when am I leave I wanted to make sure that we provided a structure to our community if you remember the early copy with the principles we established everything from the administrators accounts years according to Who provided you with the emails and all of that so that we can facilitate communicating with with each other so you can do the phone but again you probably won't catch them because again we're riding in that message has to be relay the best way is to just write an email to at depending on on the subject if you don't know who to dry clean suit does any of them in its Traders and administrators will get back to you or will delegate that email to whoever it needs to be thank you a lot of parents have their hands up is not ideal for asking questions the only way we can answer your questions if you can hold your questions in the queue in a box so please type up your question in the queue in a box and we will be happy to answer them for you okay next slot in the snap next light because the program selection survey the program selection survey is no longer active parent to be advised if you do choose to change your option in terms of a different going hybrid talk to online or online into hybrid and please email your grade level counselor and we will have a slide for you in terms of who you're great level counselors are from the time if you wanted to scare a r a pendant or confirmed attendance for the first week of school do parents so good morning as you can tell based on this graph we have our sixth grade cohorts that will be getting next week they will the first ones that will be coming onto the site and so on April 27th we have cohort 8 so if your child is a 6th grader and cohort H they will be expected to return to the site if they are in the hybrid model until we have an approximate number of 50 students who have reported that they will be coming in the hybrid model cohort H as I think that's in the rest of the team have noted before we are seen from fluctuations of people are make I changing their minds on please again make sure that you're letting us know of the other counselors if that is the case for you as well on the Wednesday which is April 28th we have cole work out the 1 p.m. court that will be the one rip to the fight then so if you can tell they're again very similar number as to the Tuesday group it's just about 45 students and as we pointed out before we know that are sixth graders won't be needing a lot help on those days is so there will be stopped here to advise kids on where to go what the protocols are we will have plenty of people who can assist and answer any questions they may have we have as much as we have to clean it up before you can always tell you Peter you find somebody in a yellow vest and they'll be able to answer your question now as you can tell on Thursday April 29th is when we have basically the ball a big group of kids who will be on the fight this will beat the 6th graders 7th graders an eighth graders in chordates the once again on that day we have 6th 7th and 8th graders who are in cohort H will be reporting on April 29th and then a slightly lower number for Friday Court which is the Court El 7th and 8th graders coming on Friday April 30th until we will be posting information for the following week because again a slightly unique scheduled the four purposes of the return to campus that first week and again please make sure you are checking her website social media so that you know I know what's happening and what's going on in Turkey the schedule for the following week and I don't know if there were any questions around the schedule that we want to address as I did see a question before from a parent who sings what can I do to make sure that my kids can come to school everyday and so I just want to be clear that the hybrid program it is hybrid by Essence it is a mixed right but it is not going to be a fully every day in person program it is still just a couple days a week depending on the alternating Monday it will be two to three it's a week so I guess hybrid does not mean every day in school and means a few days on campus in school I don't know there's another question wanted answer Lauren come down so when your child is not scared to be on campus those off days you can apply for beyond the bell childcare and and you can technically have your child on campus every day but it won't be in the advisory.
